Stenciled Pie Basket with Insert / Maple Pumpkin Pie Recipe

Hello friends!

I have another thrifty find to share.

I'm a little worried you are going to like the before MORE than the after.

This is how it looked before -

Baskets are great for storage.

I cleaned it up compressed air and a little bit of Murphy's Soap.

The inside was done with chalk paint....then I changed my mind

The basket also had the pie insert.

I painted the basket with flat white spray paint.

It gives great coverage on baskets.

I used this stencil on the lid with acrylic paint

in Cobblestone Grey.

After the paint dried I used a spray enamel sealer.

Since this basket was made to carry pie - let's do it!

This is our family favorite recipe for pumpkin pie.

MAPLE PUMPKIN PIE

1 can (16 oz.) solid-pack pumpkin

2 TBSP. all-purpose flour

1/2 tsp.each- ground cinnamon, nutmeg and ground ginger

1 TBSP. softened butter

1 c. sugar

1 c. milk

2 TBSP. real maple syrup

2 eggs

1 unbaked pie shell 9''

optional whipped cream and more maple syrup to drizzle

In a mixing bowl, combine ingredients. Pour into pie shell. Bake 425' for 15 min.
Reduce heat to 350' and continue baking about 45 min. Insert knife near center, if it comes out clean
it is done. Cool to room temp and refrigerate.
Garnish with whipped cream and drizzle with maple syrup
serves 8

The basket can carry two pies!

With a little whipped cream and maple drizzle!

I love this pumpkin pie!

I hope you enjoy it as much as my family does.
