A Quick Stenciled Dollar Tree Towel


Hi Friends!

Sometimes I get inspired when I see things at

the DOLLAR TREE.

This towel was perfect for stenciling!




You know I hate dirty stencils : )

but I used a black sharpie on this when I made it years ago!



Tape stencil to towel.

Slide a piece of scrap cardboard under towel in case of bleed through.




I used Black Acrylic paint and a stencil brush.

 Lay flat and stencil with very little paint on your brush.

If you want a darker look like I did, let dry a bit and come back with a second layer

of paint.


 After your stencil has dried get a clean cloth to cover,
Set with a hot iron.
This cookbook was part of my inspiration!

    I love the stenciled tea towel and that it matches your copy of my favorite cook book! Best recipe in there is the one for Hot Milk Sponge Cake.

    You know I do love a bit of gingham, especially if it's red :-)
    This is cute. Is it washable? Does the iron set regular acrylic paint too? Exciting if it does!

      Thank you! YES, I have washed the towel. It really surprised me years ago when I got acrylic paint on my shirt....and no way was it going to come out. I thought why pay extra for fabric paint. I always use acrylic to stencil pillows and I've never had a problem. Maybe it's because I iron set, I'm not sure.

    It's really cute! Is it a terry cloth towel? I don't like to print on those, I wish my Dollar Tree carried just woven towels.

    And my favorite cookbook too, and I agree with Vanessa above about the hot milk spongecake. Each year when my wild strawberries bloom it's a treat with fresh wild strawberries.

    I have my late Mom's Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook, and I'm so partial to the checkerboard pattern. I love this sweet tea towel. What a lovely, easy, frugal craft.
