Stenciled Water Crock

Hi Friends,

My neighbor asked if I wanted this crock, and of course I said yes.

I thought it would make a nice planter for the porch.

I cleaned it up a bit-

and looked through some of my stencils.

I used the monogram section of this stencil.

https://istencils.com/hakney-stencil-ch-011.html

I laid the crock on the side and taped down the stencil.

I used black paint and a stencil brush.

After the paint dried, I used a spray sealer to protect the finish.

Then added a potted chrysanthemum.

I like the extra height it gives to this area.

Now I'm just waiting for some cooler weather!

I hope you have a wonderful week-

Thank you so much for visiting.

Thrifty Find -Repurposed Rubber Stamp Holder

Hi  Friends!

Here's another item to share.

I found this Standard Rubber stamp holder for  99 cents.

I don't have any rubber stamps.....but I thought

maybe I could do something with it!

I got excited cuz it spins-

At first I thought about using it for an earring or bracelet display.

I was messing around with craft supplies and noticed these shaker bottles fit!

These came from the Dollar Tree.

I had a couple sets from other projects.

You can almost always find shakers at the thrift store.

I needed 4 sets-

What do you think?

I put in in my craft room-

I thought about filling the bottles with glitter or maybe buttons.....

jewelry making findings...

or.....the kitchen coffee bar with cinnamon, coco, nutmeg etc.

Tell me your ideas of what you might use it for.

I'd love to hear from you!

Thrifty Find - Mini Pumpkins Treat Buckets

Hi Friends,

Today I found these mini plastic treat buckets at the Goodwill Store.

The store was using them for display.

When I asked if they were for sell- The lady said,'' How about 29 cents?''

I told her I would take all of them ;)

I like their happy little faces!

When I got home I immediately went to the backyard to

fill them with potting soil.

I had some succulent starts ready to go!

Tomorrow I will be taking these to work.

An alternative to candy for my fellow fitness instructors.

Well that's all I have to share for now.

Later I will show you the rest of the goodies I found today.

Let's talk soon!

Embellished Flour Sack Towels

When I saw these Flour sack towels at Dollar Tree, I thought they

were good deal but needed a little something added-

One of my favorite words in crafting!

embellish

verb

em·bel·lish | \ im-ˈbe-lish
embellished; embellishing; embellishes

1 : to make beautiful by adding details

Maybe just a fancy word for up-cycling !

I went looking through my craft supplies
You may or not know this but - I LOVE RICK-RACK!

I had some FALL colors !

Measure across the bottom width of towel and add 1/4''each side

to tuck around to the back side of the towel.

Pin to existing hem seam.

Sew right over the hem seam.

I used orange on the other towel.

I didn't have any matching thread.... I am hoping white will be okay.

They need a little ironing before I give them as a hostess gift!

I hope this inspired you to embellish in a positive way-

Easy No Sew Rug Pillows

Hi Friends,

Last week I found these thick woven cotton rugs at Dollar Tree.

I thought they would make nice pillows

They had Green, Black and Tan- I went for Tan.

There's couple different ways to make these.

You could sew two rugs together OR use one rug and a different backing.

I'm going with the easiest way-  with a Hot Glue Gun!

You will need :

2- Rugs with fringe- approx.16" x 24"

Hot Glue Gun

Poly- Fiberfil Stuffing
I use a standard pillow from Walmart for $2.00

First I untied the knots one side of both rugs.

Right sides facing out.

Then re-tied together in a knot, front and back.

I did not need to glue the fringe sides.

Run a line of Hot Glue along the top side of pillow.

Glue along the bottom, leaving an opening and stuff.

Pinch and glue closed!

I love how they came out!

They have great texture.

Tell me what you think-

Have a great day!

Shovels into Pumpkins

Hello October!

I thought about decorating my front porch.....but it's still in the 80's here!

Way too hot for real pumpkins-

I  took some shovels from the backyard, brought them to my side gate.

Then propped them up against some old crates and chicken nesting box.

I wanted to make them look like pumpkins but did not want to make it permanent-

so I used some colored chalk I had on hand.

I used yellow but you really can't tell by the picture.

Draw faces or write something creative- If you don't like it just wash off and start again.

I nailed the birdhouse to the top of the shovel.

That's about it for the side of the house.

Just wash off with water!

Wouldn't the kids think this was fun...I did!
