Hello my friends !
I have been saving doilies for so long- who knows why-
I remembered seeing many different versions of table runners in the past
and thought I would put on together for Mother's Day Brunch.
I just did some layering. and used some white thread with a whip
stitch to hold it all together.
If you like the look but don't want it to be
permanent- just laying the doilies in place
would work fine!
Nothing could be easier!
I added Milk Glass bud vases to the center-
for a simple table decoration.
I hope you have special weekend!

Lisa, I just LOVE this look! I collect both milk glass and vintage doilies, but I never thought to put them together like this. I've seen curtains made of doilies, but this is so clever! I love the idea of just laying them on the table rather than connecting them. I think I feel a Mother's Day table idea coming on. Thanks for this post!
ReplyDeleteThank you Barb! You made my day. Now we are best friends ;)
DeleteIt does look nice on a dark wood table. I store my runners over a hanger in an extra closet- wrinkle free. Thanks for visiting, I hope you come back and look around sometime. Happy Mother's Day to you-

Looking so good, lovely and yes an easy idea. I should go and find all those old doilies from my mom to use

DeleteI love doilies Lisa! During a visit with my sister man years ago, she commented, what are you grandma's age, what's with the doilies. I said well, I happen to love them! I am glad to see I am not the only one who still does. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI do appreciate the craftsmanship! So light and feminine- I plan to make a curtain backdrop next- I think it will look beautiful to have light shinning through- :)

Lisa,
ReplyDeleteAs usual, I love your doily idea. I have so many of them and have used them on my table. I don't have any milk glass. Great idea. Congratulations, you are being featured on Thursday Favorite Things.

This is so pretty Lisa! Makes me want to fire up my old doily collection again!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I love looking at the variety- so creative and no two are alike. xo Lisa S
DeleteVery pretty! I took some doilies from my mom's house after she passed, but I think most of them are already table runner style (made by her own mother), beautiful, but not the pretty round ones like you have. Still, I should get them out of the cedar chest and actually use them!
