Hi !
How are you?
I know you're busy....but I wanted to share this idea with you.
I've been on the search for a Baby's First Christmas ornament
but I'm not liking the ones I find.
I saw these wood frames in the craft area at DOLLAR TREE.
OKAY, yes it's a flower...but stay with me.
I thought I could turn them into a
chubby gingerbread man.
I purchased a set of two and cut them apart
and removed the staples
I gave them a light sanding.
I found some paint in my stash...no label...not sure of the color.
I also had some puff paint.
I painted front and back.
I cut a piece of cardstock and mylar for the photo opening.
I used a sharpie to draw a face and the puff paint along the edges.
I wanted to personalize the frame.
I plan to give it as a gift.
They tiny bow was glued in place.
I was happy with how they turned out.
Do you still see a flower?
Maybe you can see from the first picture there was also
a house shaped frame.
I picked one up-
I made a couple of the house frames.
I painted it to look like their home.
I used an eye pin at the top so the ornament can hang.
You could just hot glue a ribbon or bow for hanging.
I wanted to leave room at the top to personalize
the ornament with the family's name and date.
These frames make great gifts.
I was able to make 2 gifts from 1 set.
1 set of 2 was $1.25 !!!!!
I hope you can find some too!
Thanks again ! It's so nice to have you visit.
