Altered Book Picture Frame

Hi there!

I hope you are having a great day!

I was at the Library the other day and found this book.

I liked the title so much I could not resist.

It had terrible water damage throughout..... a perfect volunteer

for a make-over.

I marked off the front and decided to cut an opening

to make a picture frame.

I hoped it would work!

I was so sad to see the damage on this book.

The last half of the book was warped and stained.

Yuck!

I used a utility knife to cut through the cover.

I just kept cutting until I liked the dept of the window.

I glued the window section together.

I left the cover open, so it can be written in or personalized.

I used a sanding block from Dollar Tree

on the window edge to even out my cuts.

It worked great to smooth the edges.

Another page was used to make shred for nest.

The book had a song page in the back. I thought I'd glue it

behind the window opening.

The knot bird was made with a page from the book.

How to make a knot bird here

I cut 4 small triangles, to glue on the back of the window.

Glue the outer side of triangles.

Photo tucks inside.

Glued a bit of shred to lower edge of window.

Ribbon was added so cover can be opened and then held closed.

The bird is sitting on a straight pin and pushed into

the cardboard cover.

To change the picture, untie ribbon and open.

The picture can be changed by slipping a photo

into the corner triangles.

I added an old Christmas card.

I think I will leave this picture- and explain that a family

photo can be added instead.

It stands up by itself on a shelf or lean against a wall.

Have a great week!

Thanks for visiting today.
