Turn a Blanket into a Pumpkin

Hi Friend!

Here's a fun way to decorate for Fall-

No scissors , no glue, no storage needed

You probably have some

type of Blanket or Throw that you can use

for this-

Fold blanket into a long tube.

Tie a knot in the center-

Tuck the ends into the center

Fluff and shape into a pumpkin.

I added a short stick and a couple of burlap leaves.

That's it-

I put it on the bed in our guest room-

Then moved it to the family room sofa-

To use as a blanket, just remove stick and unroll.

That's the easiest pumpkin I have ever made-

Let me know if you make one!

Update:
I took Crystal G's great suggestion
and used a napkin !

Folded napkin in half triangle

Roll to the center

Tie a knot

Tuck in the ends

Added a cinnamon stick!

Thanks Crystal!

An Embellished Store-Bought Journal

Hello my friend !

I love the word embellish when it comes to crafting-

to me it means- make it better, make it your own.

Being able to personalize a gift, or making it

one of a kind is special.

I have shared many times about

my  Used Bookstore in my local Library.

I find all sorts of goodies there.

Yesterday I found this new journal.

Beautiful silver filigree design on the cover.

The pages are lined.

I added a few 'feathers' cut from an old dictionary.

they can be used as bookmarks.

I purchased these 3-D puffy stickers at the DOLLAR TREE.

I separated all the pieces.

The stickers can be cut easily with scissors.

I wanted to make a frame for the cover.

This is the layout for the stickers.

I helped clean out a house a few years ago and none of the family

wanted their old family pictures.

I went through and decided to keep most of them.

I couldn't bear to throw them away-

Some of the pictures were over 100 years old.

I used one of the pictures here-

I used glue to hold the stickers in place.

She looks lovely in her Victorian frame!

With a real metal magnetic closure.

The pages have a silver scroll design on the edges.

Now the journal is unique and one of a kind!

Thank you for stopping by!

It's great to have you here.

I hope you have a wonderful week.

Easy PAPER WREATH for Fall

Hi Friend !

Fall is my favorite time of year and I can't wait to start decorating.....

even though it's 90 degrees.

Let's make a wreath!

I have this wonderful book that I got at the Library store.

It is filled with old fashioned double sided card stock paper.

I pulled out about 8 pages.

I was able to cut 4 leaves from each page.

I used this pattern for the leaves.

I cut a few and decided to only use the oak leaf pattern.

I chose earth tones, golds and greens.

I used a thrifted embroidery hoop as my wreath form.

This hoop was 14'' across.

I got out my white glue-

I  glued the leaves along the edge going the same direction-

it really took only a few minuets.

The back side is pretty too!

It reminds me of old- fashioned Calico fabric

Thanks for visiting!!!!!
