An Easy Collage Project

Hello my Friend..... I've been away for a while.

I missed you!

How was your summer ?

I came upon this accordion file at the .99 cent Store.

These files are great for receipts, recipes or any papers you need to control.

I even liked the ribbon closer-

The back was plain.

The file has sections marked with the alphabet.

I  used some MOD PODGE and scraps of paper,

lace, fabric. old maps, and sheet music to cover over the old graphic.

No real plan, just start to layer and stop when you like

what you created!

I'll share a couple of of pictures I used.

These came from The Graphic Fairy

Hundreds of wonderful vintage graphics!

You can save and print from here or you to-

https://thegraphicsfairy.com/

This is the back side.

Collage is fun !

These accordion-style files  were very inexpensive,

and they can be easily personalized.

I think I will pick up a couple more to give as gifts.

Thanks for the visit!

Altered Mini Books

 Hi Friends!

Here's a little something that I like to have on hand for gift giving.

These mini composition books come three to a pack.

They were from the Dollar Tree.

I know I have also seen them at Walmart.

All you need is some paper scraps and glue.

These tags were from Dollar Tree.

I like to stain them with coffee-

strings included.

These zipper seal bags were from Dollar Tree.

The books fit inside perfectly!

I like to use the bags to protect the books

if the books are going to a craft sale.

I just love ALL of Tim Holtz

idea-ology product line.

Have you seen these?

Tim calls them paper dolls.

You can use them for all types of crafts.

They are full of detail and pre-cut for you !

I have this 1969 reprint of a 1902

Sears Catalog-

I love to use pages for background in handmade cards

and books. It has well over 1200 pages.

I also like to use sheet music in my crafts.

I couldn't be happier!

A little scrap of antique lace on the spine

to finish the book.

BFF's

A small torn crumpled circle with a button

makes a sweet flower on top of a lace scrap.

Sometimes I photo copy my paper dolls so I can use them more than once.

Then I can use watercolor paint or use colored pencils.

The inside is covered with paper

 and stained with coffee.

Coffee can be spay misted, dribbled, brushed or sponged on!

Young love

Another book with a page from the dictionary,

a scrap of sheet music, a bit of torn cloth and

a rose and a paper doll.

Cover label reads-

A scrapbook of random inspiration
 and things of note

A scrap of lace can look like wings

for a bit of whimsy.

Grocery List

The mini books fit just right in the bags.

Your guess is as good as mine

This sweet boy was sitting so I put him

on top of a sticker, I added the wings- borrowed

from a butterfly.

Go forth and be Fabulous !

I hope my examples

gave you some inspiration.

Another Little Golden Book Junk Journal for Christmas

PLUS - An Easy way to make POCKET PAGES

Hi Friends!

Since my Golden Book Junk Journals continue to be

a popular post, I have another book with a tip to share.

This book was in very bad shape.

The cover was already torn apart.

I show you how to take apart the book here in more detail.

Cut your cover and book pages to 8' by 6''

Today I  want to show you an easy way to make

pockets for your Little Golden Book.

To start,

you will need a 12''x 12'' sheet of

cardstock or scrapbook paper.

I prefer double sided.

Fold in half.

Unfold, this is the back of the inside.

Fold again, I have a tiny score board so I

fold in half to score the paper at 4''

and fold up.

Use a bone folder or plastic credit card edge

to burnish or smooth the folds.

Glue the outside 1/4'' of pocket and down the center.

Let dry a few seconds.

I have a heavy duty 3 hole punch.

It can be adjusted for the 8'' book.

I put a piece of tape on the punch so

I know were to line up the page.

Punch the folded edge.

Each pocket folder has 4 sides to decorate

and fill. Paper can also be add to the center

area for more variety.

These pockets can be used in sewn journals

if you do not punch the holes.

I made a stack of these.

All the pages are 8'' high 6'' wide with

a 4'' pocket.

I put one pocket between each book page.

I try to keep the story pages in order.

Sometimes I have to fix a page or remove it

if it's too damaged.

I lay out the pages and continue until the end

of the book.

I use 3 binder clips to hold the pages together.

Now is the fun part!

Adding to the pockets.

A few extra pages here and there-

On the clips I add some ribbon.

It's a nice chunky journal.

A unique gift for a friend.

Ready to be filled with Christmas memories.

Merry Christmas!
