Fresh Idea for Steel Cut Oatmeal Anytime

Hello Friend!

I hope you are having a wonderful summer-

Fall is on the way, and busy morning routines begin.

I'd like to share with you how our family enjoys our oatmeal.

We start the night before.

Crock Pot Overnight Oatmeal

1 cup Steel Cut Oats

4 cups Water

Use Cooking Spray or Butter

on the bottom of the crockpot.

On LOW overnight.

I start at about 9:00 PM and in the mourning at about 6:00AM

the oatmeal is ready!

We enjoy a big bowl...everyone eats at different times.

I'm the last one !

I put the leftovers from the morning into a muffin tin.

I use cooking spray on the tin. I think it probably helps.

I put the muffin tin in the freezer for about an hour.

Then the frozen muffins pop easily out of the tin.

Store in a zip lock freezer bag.

Place one or two frozen muffin blocks

in a microwaveable bowl.

I add a teaspoon of water and cook on high for 1 minute.

Check and stir, cook for another minute if needed.

If you prefer, you can let it thaw overnight in the fridge.

My husband likes his oatmeal with just brown sugar.

I like mine with blueberries, walnuts and honey.

Delicious breakfast or snack !

Have a blessed day!

  3. What a great idea! Having individual servings in the muffin tin is perfect for everyone who wants different additions to their oatmeal like you and your hubby. Thanks for sharing on Happiness is Homemade. I f you get a chance, I'd love for you to stop by and share on Crafty Creators Link Party as well.
