An Easy Book Repair and Share

Hi Friends!

This sweet little children's book needed some repair.

The covers had come apart but the inside pages

were in good shape.

I used a paper cutter to clean up the edges.

All the pages fold onto themselves in a

single signature.

The pages are in good condition.

They were originally stapled in place but not torn.

The staples had already been removed.

I tore a strip of fabric about 1'' wide and long enough

to cover the inside and the outside.

I glued the fabric to the inside first.

I gave myself some space between the covers

so the pages would not hang over.

I glued the fabric to the inside first,

leaving the long tail of fabric for later.

To take up some space I added a strip of foam.

I used a clip to hold the pages together.

I made three small holes with an awl.

Using a needle and embroidery thread, I hand stitched

the pages in place.

Starting inside center, through to the outside, back inside,

all the way to the last hole and back to the center and tie off.

See the stitches?

Now glue the cloth over the stitches

and tuck in the end.

This is my favorite glue!

Good as new!

I want to share some of the prayers with you.

I love the illustrations.

Thank you!
