Got an Old Scrub Brush ?

You could use it to clean something, but that's no fun!

I have one I don't use anymore so I decided to give it a makeover.

I gave it a good sanding to get rid of what was let of the

old finish on the wood.

I used some dark wood stain on the brush.

I love to stencil-

Any wood surface is not safe at my house!

I used these stencils from

Cathe Holden at Inspired Barn

You will see more of my projects over there ;)

I use painters tape to hold down stencil-

a stencil brush is needed

and a little dab of black acrylic paint!

After the paint dried, I used a clear acrylic spray finish to seal.

Flipped over it can hold pictures!

Thanks for stopping by today-

I hope you have a great week-

xo Lisa S

Note: I made another and the second one sold

 before I got a picture!

  3. The stencil looks so authentic on your brush. It looks good on the other side holding pictures, too! I popped over to the stencil link and saw some great patterned ones. Thanks for sharing at the #HomeMattersParty!

    1. Thank you so much Allyson! I have a few of the stencils - my favorite are the old labels. They are very good quality stencils. I always check there first.
      Have a great week ;)

    1. This brush was from an old shoe shine box ! A brush with stiff bristles works even better. Now that you are looking you will probably see them everywhere! Thank you for your sweet comment.
