Covered Matchbox Gift

Hello !

Just for fun, I covered some small matchboxes.

I picked up a set at the Dollar Tree.

I used a small paper fastener to make a drawer pull knob.

Make the hole,

start with the outside covered-

glue the front flap.

Poke the fastener through.

Open the prongs.

The next step covers the prongs.

Line the drawer with paper and trim.

Wrap the outside of the box.

Back side needs to be covered so the drawer

will not push through.

Paper is folded closed just like wrapping a gift

and then glue the tabs down.

A good place to keep those tiny paper fasteners.

Inside one of the drawers is a mini notebook.

Pinch the tiny paper fastener and pull to open .....

I decorated the top with a small apothecary label.

The book

 fits neatly inside the drawer.

I made a matching set-

with a tiny surprise inside.

To make the mini notebook:

Measure the inside dimensions of your drawer.

Cut pages, folded sides together.

Check the fit, trim again if needed.

Clip the open side in place.

Run a ribbon of white glue along the folded side.

That will be the spine.

Leave it alone to dry.

I glued the cover to the spine and

used a clip to hold in place while the glue dried.

That's a quick way to make a mini notebook.

Large matchboxes can also be covered.

I used a map of to cover this box.

Wouldn't a box like this go well with a

handmade candle ?

.....back to the mini's

I stacked and tied them together for a gift.

For a crafting friend.

Thank you for time today !

I enjoy the visit.

Have a wonderful week, my friend.
