Book Page Envelopes

Hello,

How's your day?

I hope you are doing well.

I have shared in the past that I love my

local library. This library regularly fills a discard table

and I check it often!

I found this craft book published in the 1980's.

The book was in bad shape!

I picked up the book for

the beautiful

illustrations by Edith Holden.

Each page has a quote

with a bird in a nature scene.

I was able to savage part of the book.

The pages are matte print on heavy cardstock.

I removed all the illustrations marked with the

months of the year.

I folded the page into an envelope shape.

Fold sides and leave flap open.

I used the sewing machine to stitch

around the sides.

I used a straight stitch with black thread.

Be careful to stitch slow on the corners.

Sewing on paper is so fun!

After I made the first envelope I used it as a template.

for folding the rest.

Beautiful on all sides.

Stitched all the way around-

top flap then the sides.

Here's the back of the envelope.

I have 12 lovely envelopes- so many possibilities.

Perfect for a monthly saving plan.

A place to tuck some extra cash.

Together the envelopes make a pretty stack!

Thanks for visiting!

I appreciate you!

  8. The original Country Diary was SUCH a big trend when I was young, my mum loved it and had curtains with the poppy and wheat design. I still have the book that I was given for Christmas, I'd never cut that up but I would look for another in a charity shop to try some crafting like this.
