Hello my Friend !
Paper beads have been around forever.
I can remember making some in elementary school!
Often they are made with a long triangular
shaped strip of paper.
Today I'm sharing a bead that's a little different variation.
I started with a page from a magazine.
The paper had a matte finish.
I cut my steps 1/2'' wide and about 5'' long
I used eyelets to create a finish edge to the beads.
I rolled the beads by hand to fit the eyelets I had on hand.
Eyelets are sometimes had to find.
I found mine at Harbor Freight Company !
Check it out if you have a store near you.
I glued the eyelets on both ends of the beads.
I like the cylinder shape. They look like tiny spools.
I had a mix of eyelets.
Some were silver, brass and copper
I added some beads to the MERMAID JOURNAL here.
The knot at the top is a place to hook a pen.
The beads can easily be threaded onto ribbon.
Then I decided to string a few on a
scrap of vintage seam binding
and attached it to my daily calendar.
Just for fun!
Thank you!

ReplyDeleteOh my... I love the paper beads, but you sure cranked it up a notch with those caps! So cool, Lisa!
ReplyDeleteThey look great, and I have quite a stash of eyelets that I've had for years and barely use so I'll be giving this idea a try. It'll be a feature at Handmade Monday this week.
ReplyDeleteI've never done this before! The caps are a great idea. Thanks for sharing this post with us at the Will Blog for Comments #66 linkup. Hope to see you next week at #67, too.
